Hey Longhorns! Want to serve our community and get to know fellow Texas alums? Perfect! On February 25 we'll be delivering meals with Food and Friends (an amazing local organization that delivers meals to those living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, or other life-challenging illnesses) as part of Project Worldwide.
Here's what you need to know:
WHEN: February 25, 2017 at 8:30am (we will begin delivering meals at 9am) and will be done at 12pm.
WHERE: Food and Friends 219 Riggs Rd. NE, Washington, DC 20011 (an 8 minute walk from the Fort Totten Metro)
WHAT: We'll be delivering food and prepared meals to individuals/families living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, or other illnesses. ***Please wear burnt orange, invite friends, and let Amanda Baker (email@example.com) know if you have a car and are willing to drive yourself and 1-3 other Longhorns around to deliver meals.***
Project Worldwide is a partnership between the Texas Exes and the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement designed to unite alumni worldwide in community service during the month of February. The Project is a service project that has been taking place since 1999 and has now become UT’s largest day of service. Fore more info on Food and Friends check out their website: foodandfriends.org
